I have an oil pressure sender T-piece screwed into my T1 case. One to pressure guage, one to oil pressure warning light.
Ordinarily when the ignition is on the green low pressure warning light is on as well as the guage reading 0kPa. It was all working fine on my way
home from work last night.
This morning the guage shows no pressure, BUT the warning light doesn't come on either.
Is there a simple method to test for a fault?
sounds like a simple wire came off... or ive read what u said wrong?
sounds like a wire to me... i guess you could take the sender out and pressurize it (using compressed air?) and see if you get a reading, but most prob a wiring problem somewhere...

Either:
1. Your oil pressure has really suddenly dropped to 0 AND your warning light has failed
or
2. Your gauge has failed.
Of the two options, the first is less likely.
The (electric?) gauge probably depends on variable resistance according to oil pressure, so:
1. check for continuity from the sender electrical takeoff to the gauge and
2. remove the gauge and get it tested by any auto electician.

Not sure what has actually happened, but as it turns out it isn't oil pressure.
When I was first testing to see if the oil pressure light was working it wasn't, but the reason was that I had pressure - the engine had not long
been cranked it the pressure remained good for quite a while.
The problem lies somewhere with the guage. It takes about 5 minutes of driving and then the guage works perfectly. So I guess I have to test the guage
or the guage's sender.
