Automatic Transmission Rebuild - T2

Howdy,
I am looking at purchasing a Kombi that requires some Automatic Transmission work. I am assuming that it will require a full
rebuild...............
Does anyone have an idea how much this should/would cost? As you can imagine, this can radically change the cost of the vehicle so I just need some
ballpark figures.
The transmission is attached to a 1.8L....................

In WA the last one that I knew that was rebuilt- and have seen invoice- was $800 and that was a guy in Morley.It was great job and changed my mind
about autos completely.
Have heard of quotes around $1200 elsewhere
