Hi everyone.
Does anyone know where I can get some decently priced leads for my 1800 camper?
I discovered that the inside of one of the connectors has actually been burnt out hollow where the pressurefit screw thing attaches to the body of the
connector. Not sure where that leaves the rest of them. Even just some connectors for the cables would be good. For now I'll just hit them with a
multimeter to look for dubious resistence.
I considered getting normal carbon cables from supercheap @ $4.95 each, but they lack the essential rubber ring to stop the cooling air from leaking
out. And I'm guessing carbon leads don't pull apart too well.
What are peoples solutions for sparkplug lead replacement?
I remember auto-one, or was it autopro, or autobarn... anyway they used to make up leads for you if they didn't stock the requested models one. Does
anyone still do that?
can you take the rubbers off and swap them over?
if you have a little spare length you can cut the corroded end off and buy new german ends and stick em on ,good as ..dont get the brazilian ends as the only last a few k kms:beer:beer:beer
The leads are okay. it's the ends that are nuked.
I just went over them with a multimeter a few minutes ago. A little resistance. On the 2000k setting on the multimeter I was getting 0.2
Sorry about the description but for some reason reading digital multimeters has always confused me when it comes to resistence.
On 200ohm I get open circuit. hmm.
All the connectors on the sparkplug ends are different. Weird. I replaced the burnt out one with an old one I had lying around from my old beetle. It
was swapped out because it started popping off repeatedly. Strange because it clips nicely on to the sparky.
jnr356, I wish I could, but the only way I can take them off is to either remove one end of the cable or cut the rubbers.
Where do I get the German tips from?
Classic Veedub has the whole german lead set on special for $40 I think, it was on his website
