Ive got a funny problem at the moment... i can start my car fine, but the starter doesnt seem to let go of the flywheel... when i turn the key off it keeps on spinning away, but not turning the engine over... im assuming there must be some kind of cut off and if its stuck, the motor keeps spinning til it lets go.

Is this just a dodgy solenoid or something else?

And is it easy for me to pull the starter assembly apart to have a look/fix it?

dodgy starter contacts, its not the solenoid as it is disengaging after its been released. pulling apart the starter is the easy part getting it back together and working is another story
