Hi

Google wont help in this instance, thats an Australia only chassis number for 1967 Beetle, basically the same vehicle as a 1964 Beetle.

yeah, i needed a check, cause guess what. had a deep look today, was told this vehicle was ball joint, dad said to me the other day "hey chris, just checked out ur k&l gear" and i was like wtf, its suppose the be a 67', and was told it was ball joint.

So i took my baja bug book, and it is a K & L, which means it should be pre 66 then.

Hence y i need help with ya peoples. I checked google b4, got crap results, found places that told me the code, but neva fitted mine.

Anyone got an idiots guide right by there computer to refer to?

bajachris88 - January 30th, 2006 at 09:28 PM

bumpety. i NEEDS the answer, thats all.

Make sense if its a 64, cause it explains the k & l.

any ideas though of what it is?
especially the engine?

Hi

This subject always trips people up. In Australia our 1967 bugs had a K&L front end. More reading matter here, http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=45682#pid425914

ah well. Thanx guys. its somewhere in that era. WIll just say 67 then and stick with that. Allways had a false thought that 67 and above was balljoint, was told it was balljoint too. Is 67 balljoint over in US or UK?

pod - January 30th, 2006 at 10:09 PM

in US from 1964 i think

karmen - January 30th, 2006 at 11:09 PM

actually Chris i do know it is K/L and never say ball joint as i do know the difference
in the excitement of buying a Baja & rather than a bug you may have been overwhelmed or misunderstood ma man.
So first bug/gy
i forgive you
tell the good folks the vin nr from main roads does say 67 !
Someone on here had this regoed who was living at Deception Bay way 5 yrs or so ago acc to Key ring label and Bad Buggers stickers all over back window.
67....hence we were not sure if it was a 1300 converted to offroad lots has changed.
i made u good offers on mtrs and irs boxes caus i like all dubbers to be happy.
Been there for 50 yrs.
no hard feelins just good dealins !!

bajachris88 - January 30th, 2006 at 11:15 PM

was just checkin' soz mate. But the US and UK info on the net mislead me. Even my own "guide to baja bugs and buggies" mislead me to believe it. cause of it being written by a US fella. (Jeff hibbard).

karmen - January 30th, 2006 at 11:15 PM

welcome back from the US lol

enjoy

Anthiron - January 30th, 2006 at 11:21 PM

king and link dude. dont stress. a little more maitenence than balljoint but not a bad thing.

karmen - January 30th, 2006 at 11:33 PM

seemed to me to have stronger swaybar and spring uplifts (coils around)
over monroe whilie shocks (so not too olde)
taa Nick

Anthiron - January 30th, 2006 at 11:40 PM

balljoint has stronger stub axles than king and link but u can get more travel with king and link.

hey karmen do u have any IRS pans u want to get rid of?
