Airshockies on a bus.

Is any one aware of any problems with fitting airshocks to a '75? I bought second hand wide rims (4wd white spoke looking ones) put 225 tyres on them , but the offset wasnt enough and the tyres do not sit under the guards.
A couple of choices:
1; Airshocks and fiberglass wheel arch to conform to WA road laws or..
2; Panel shop for flaring and cutting of guards. need a 50 mm more room.

Any other ideas and suggestions. how much for the panel beating?
Thanks for your help.

G'day Loges,

It would seem that your rims may not be designed for a Kombi, what size are they and what is the measurement from the hub face to the back of the rim.

I've had 31x10.5x15 Mudterrains (equivalent width to 265s) on a stock '74 Komb as does my son, PHAT BUG on his '74, these fitted with addequate clearance allround.

Talk to an Engineering workshop that does wheels about repositioning the centers for you, probably cheaper than panel work and would look better.

Cheers, Ian.

if you like the wheels, get the offset changed.
