undo the the six nuts on the side cover plates and then there's a circlip (i think) that you'll need to get to... I think I should shut up. I've only seen it done once and that was ages ago..

good luck!

undo Axle nut, remove drum and road wheel, then the 6 nuts, this should allow you to remove axle tube and wheel bearing with some persistant hammering. Then remove large internal circlip that reains the axle.
messy job.

so I was correct!
Yeh, those wheel bearings can either be real easy to take off (they just slide off by hand) or they can take an hour of hammering and levering with spanners and the like..

Cheers guys, has been the most annoying process, Lol. and tranny fluid stinks. Heard my neighbours complaining of a smell ova the fence while i was working on the car, and i think it is the tranny. Lol.

Anyone got any ideas how i can get a axel nut off at the drum end if the wire crappy stuff that runs through it is snapped in the middle and the nut won't budge due to the wire locking it up?

With that surclip in the box? u mean that wire that is running around between the internal nuts inside that axel/box connection? ( I see it in there)

Thanx heaps guys.

:D

to get a broken split pin out you can stick a pin punch in the hole and hit it out , do you have internal circlip pliers?? otherwise you wont be able to get the circlip out

If the gearbox is out of the car then your going to have a few problems holding the rear axle to allow you to undo the nuts.

use a fine pin punch to remove the broken split pin.

Drain the gear box oil before you go too much futher other wise it will get everwhere
