Does anyone know the finer points of adjusting the rear end of a split screen i know the basic principles but!
what are the increments per spline in mm? I want to drop the rear 25 mm
Normal springplate angle is 20 deg (plus or minus half deg) between unloaded springplate and bus level. Taking it down to 7 deg is about a 3 inch
drop. Thus 13 deg change is 3 inch drop. You can do the exact math but 25mm would be about 4 deg drop (to about 16 degs between springplate and bus
level) roughly ...
To obtain the roughly 4 deg drop :
Moving one outer spline either way is 7.5 degrees. Rotating the bar to
change to the next spline internally is 8.16 degrees. The difference is 40
minutes of arc, or 2/3 of a degree, making for fine adjustment ability. Again you should be able to work out how many inner and outers for neg 4
degs.

Perfect Answer Rob! now that takes alot of trial and error out of the job so i simply rotate the inner spine clockwise six clicks and and the outer anti clock six clicks giving me 12/3 or 4 degrees ....

Buses have 44 and 48 splines from memory. (I'm pretty sure of the 48 one though)
Yes - splitbusses are 'finer' splined and I think you are right on with the 48 on the spring plate end (going from memory too!)

Very good info guys with This i might just have to do it once....
