i have a 1776cc engine which will soon be ready to go into my baja.

my car has an old swinger box and i have no idea if i have a 6 volt flywheel on my current engine or if the bellhousing has been clearanced or even what flywheel is on the 1776.

is there a way i can tell? starter motor?

i dont want to drop the motor and find out i dont have the right starter motor for the flywheel.

starter should have voltage stamped on somewhere ,plus there is a difference in the starter spigot sizes

Yep.
The starter shaft is a fair bit bigger on the 6V starter and the gear teeth are wider spaced as well.
It should be fairly obvious if you pull the starter out.
