Hey, just got my new rims and there going to be sandblasted, the existing clips that hold the hub caps on have broken off and i need to get some new
ones on.
my existing ones on the smaller wheels appear to be welded on, dont quite understand, but the ones on the wide rims appear to be screwed in, however
the screws have no thread head anymore.
so........... what do i do, i know where i can buy new ones, but how do they get installed.
let alone the existing ones removed.
TY
There riveted on,you can buy new clips and rivets,u drill or punch the old ones out,and install the new ones with a ball pein hammer and support on
the other side,OR SO IVE HEARD

Hub cap clips r readily available but not real easy to install as u have to support one end of the rivet while you peen the other end with a not
insubstantial (ie big) hammer.
It may be heresy to most but I put my clips on with big pop rivets with the "nice"flat end on the drum side of the rim & the daggy end on the hub
cap side. Just tickle up the nice end with ur angle grinder to make sure its flush with the rim. There is a small recess to allow for the orig rivet
anyway.
