Type 3 ? how do you remove a auto shifter cable from a car ??

Ok how do you get the cable out of the pan ?

Ok , its been awhile. Disconect cable from gearbox end( this should be straight forward).Unbolt the gearshift, lift it out of the tunnel enough to disconnect the cable. You then should be able to draw the cable out from the back of the car. Hope this helps, like I said its been awhile since I've done one but this is how I remember doing it.

I found it easier to pull it out through the shifter end, only becase the tube is difficult to disconnect from the shifter assembly. Undo the end of the cable from the tranny, then undo the bowden tube from the bracket on the tranny. Pull the end of the bowden tube off the cable. As mine was slightly bent, it did not want to slide off the solid end piece of the cable. Unbolt the shifter from the tunnel. Now you can pull the tube and cable out from inside. You may find you need to work inside then under to guidethe tube past any snags. It is also a good idea to tie a piece of string to the end of the cable before you pull it out so you have something to help you pull it back in again.
