have a 1 5/8 merged header - when putting this on should the 4 j-peices just sit snug in the mould of the header? or should sealer be used? or possibly stainless steel clamps?

any help appreciated

thanks nick

if you've got the time and equipment- flange all four joins.

oh , i'd use some sealer, my engine suffered from backfire until i did (the joins were very loose tho)

easy thing really, i bought some from vintage vee dub. i used c.v joint bolts with the heads turned down to get enough clearence on the flared side of the join. tack one flange on the very end of the larger diameter side of the joins, then bolt it all up tight on your motor and tighten the flanges togethe, tack them and remove to weld right the way round- done. if you choose to go this way, do it when the pipes are new, it's a bitch to weld em when they're getting old and thin.
