I'm using this stuff all over my during its rebuild. Very easy to use and great up here in Darwin with the humidity and all.

Have you ever used POR 15 paint before ?
If so then I am probably telling you stuff you know so you can stop reading now, otherwise, I have a few tips :

1. Always wear gloves as if this gets on your skin it is there until your skin comes off.

2. Always get paint out of the tin and put it into something else to paint from otherwise the next time you come back to use the tin it will have gone hard...bad experience ( I found that a syringe works well for small amounts and cost about 30cents from the chemist).

3. Always seal tin lid with glad wrap between the lid and the tin as you are stuffed if the paint dries between the 2.

Not sure if you are going to use Rust preventative as the first coat and then chassis coat over the top, but the chassis coat runs very easily I found (or I was doing something wrong ).

Anyway, good luck, it is great paint and will make your pan look fantastic !!!

Has anyone used this stuff over a whole car?

pat, i was told that the normal coat (the shiny stuff) fades/discolours with sunlight so it mightn't be the best as a topcoat.
another point. they recomend using thier "marine clean" on the bare surfaces first. i know that i didn't and had a few issues with my preperation and hence top coat.
thirdly. try using foam brushes when painting with it. i got good results using them. mind you you use alot of brushes, but in this case i put my car ahead of the enviroment.

POR 15 now have a UV stabilised topcoat

I am using this over my entire body shell as I'm going bare metal. I will Metal ready the bare shell, spray the shell in por 15 rust preventative paint and tie coat it. All body filler will then go over this and then be sealed with another few coats of por 15 rust preventative paint to ensure no moisture penetration will ever take place (unless of coarse it is scratched.....which this product is pretty hard to scratch when cured). Tie coat will then go over this and normal priming etc of the body will take place. Will be interesting to see if it goes ok given the additional cost involved. Being in the tropics you want to be sure of moisture sealing.

Sounds like your bug will last forever after that.
