Just put a new fanbelt on my 1600 twin carb type 3 and noticed the rubber bellow thing at the back that goes from the fan shroud to the back of the car isnt held on by anything on the engine side and isnt even attached to the fan shroud very well (only attached at the top). Is it really important for it to seal, or is it something that I shouldnt really worry about and can even take off?
IF YOU RUN YOUR ENGINE WITH OUT THE BELLOWS ATTACHED YOU WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW MOTOR.
sHOULD HAVE METAL CLIPS ON BOTH BODY AND ENGINE SIDE.
nope has lots of cable tie's on body side and nothing on engine.
Is it a cool air duct?
Yes it is where the engine gets it's cool air from.
You must get the clamps and make sure it is on right to get all the cool air you an in the motor
