Trying to learn more about my new car.
The engine number is AB465786 according to the rgo papers. Wher on the block is it stamped?

Vin 1112962616 meant to be built in 1/71? Again wher would this be on the chassis since I have an atermarket body.
Anyone know if the #s match or the origins of the car?
Was it an Oz delivery or a UK import?
How do I find this out?

stamp is below alternator for eng #
if no match then u have repl eng in

chassis # is under back seat nr shifter inspection plate

uk imports are rare in 71 mods
would prob be a German import as 99% were after 1967 (or when 12 vlt started in 68) plated under bonnet with alu plate for manufacture

as to the match of #'si cant tell u atmo...trry Mick mtrs site or Samba

You have a 1300cc engine from 1972

and the chassis is from 1971

Probably single port still with the small carburetor...

The engine could be larger..... You never know...

larger means it could be old case boosted to 15oo or 1600 cc
heads could also have been changed .
