I am considering purchasing an 82 transporter and was wondering if anyone has heard of any major probs with them. She does have log books etc and seems well maintained. BuT ....??

Hopefully it is an aircooled :D

reason being they are A LOT cheaper and easier to repair.

No major problems with them. Usual T4 motor things. Make sure they motor is fine, heater boxes etc etc.
Exhaust.
Parts just arent as easy as bays, but water cooled body aprts fit.

Auto or manual?

Is it as nice as Daisy?

They're a very nice unit. T3s are much improved dynamically over the '70s T2s and ride and handle much better. They are more comfortable, more stable and noticeably roomier inside without being greatly larger on the outside.

An '82's engine is almost identical to the late '70s Kombis so they're easy to fix if something is wrong. It's more crucial to check the body for rust or damage. Mechanical stuff is easy - body work is not quite so easy.

They are great vehicles!
