Can anybody help me answer my sister...question: where the cir clip sits between the distributer drive gear and bearing does it allow inward spring - where you press it together. HOpe this makes sense and that someone can help me so i can pass it on!

To clarify:
I guess you are talking about on the Crank shaft and not on the distributor itself.
The spacer ring, I am not definate but others will follow to correct me - the spacer will allow some flex when pushed inward.
I always wondered why it wouldnt spread apart due to centrifical force,
Probably were a lot tighter when new......
