Kombi dripping fuel
fekkinell - July 19th, 2006 at 11:06 AM

Buggerit... just as everything starts working really nicely, the right hand carberettor has decided to start dripping fuel. It's not the fuel line or brass fittings cos it's dripping from somewhere underneath...

...any ideas as to what it might be? :?:

havent done much work to the carbs on my bus but do they have a fuel bowl drainer? Might be worth just checking all the bolts around the fuel bowl as one may hav wiggled loose, check float bowl screws (flat head looking down onto carby)...

has happened to mine about 3 -4 times,

dissconnect the linkage from the two carbs, loosen off the two bolts holding on the carb to the inlet manifold and remove carb, take onto clean bennch and strip (within reason ya know) then put back together, i garanteeeee this will work

yer it usually leaks at the bottom where that spring arm thing is, real common eh

good luck

Could be a stuck needle valve making the bowl overflow - when this happens the fuel can come out of all sorts of bits of the carb. Take the top off the float-bowl, replace the needle valve (they are very cheap), put the top back on.
