Can't remember if I posted this Q b4?
Raf
I'm pretty sure its bullets. Was looking at a 59 split ute the other day and it had bullets.
USA had bullets eg Rob K's 23 window.
Oz didn't get them til late'60 or even '61. I think that when they went from 36hp to 40hp, they got flashing indicators. Up to then
they used semaphores. My '60 SC was one of the last with semaphores- It's Vic rego number plate is HEA. My '60 KG is HEE & it was
a 40hp.
The big fish-eye front blinkers started in '62, I think.
Hope that helps!

Early 59 had semaphores, late 59 had the clip on indicators that fitted the semaphore hole. These where an original VW part fitted at the factory
during the conversion away from semaphores. They were later sold as an upgrade for the semaphores.
I personally would prefer the semaphores.
This is what my late 59 has:kiss
well,
you live and learn - I always thought the
clips-ins were a later upgrade? Do you know if the clip-ins as a factory crossover fit was Oz only?
Years are about right - semaphores to 60 with cross over to nipple front indicators late 60/early 61, change to fish-eye or fried egg indicators late
63......
Noses can be reskinned which can confuse things a bit.........

I would take a guess that it would have been a german factory thing, well before the aussie build started.:P
here's an australian delivered 59 model. the semaphores work but have been disconnected and some aftermarket indicators fitted.
Love those arrow indicators!! :thumb
yep, very tasty! just watch, everyone will want a set now!
mine is a 60 and first of the bullet indicators but its a south african kombi with original factory bullet holes!!!! but the bastards cut out the
whole and put pancake style blinkers in it!!!
cheers
