blk56 - April 25th, 2003 at 05:41 PM

Just had my 36hp rebuilt and would like to know what is the go with the thermo ?I have been told not to worry about one as they fail a lot on 36hp motors and cooked them. Any feed back would be helpful .Oh and I will be installing a judson after the motor is run in will that make any differance?
Cheers :bounce

I think i have all the bits for one... butwouldnt fit it Mine runs fine.

Hows the actual car going ready for paint yet ???

Theres a 36hp themo ring thing for sale on the Samba site currently. About US$30.
I have never seen a complete working one of these on a 36HP engine before and I have had a few. I was wondering if Aussie made 36'rs even had them fitted from new. IU guess they just get pulled off and chucked away when they started to cause problems!!

Have a 36hp in Bel. Just collect good parts when you see them and stock pile for when needed.

That's what I'm learning to do:jesus:)

Inlet manifolds seem to be something that rusts out, and most do have rust when you find them, so if you ever see a good one pick it up. Have just replaced one

We don't have a thermo fitted

Hey it's fun keeping them stock:thumb
