dropped spindle modifying (bay)

Get a 68 ball joint from end and it will bolt straight into a split. Or so I am told. The bolt pattern is the same (where it bolts up. Not the wheels). I know this much. You then take of the crappy drums and upgrade to later model disc simply by unbolting the old drums off the ball joint front end and replacing with disc. As for lowering I can't really offer any advice.
The later front beam will not fit on to a split, it must be a 68\69 drum, ball joint front beam, to lower you get someone thats good at welding to fit an adjuster, dropped spindles will improve the ride but cost $770 exchange at CB&B. :thumb
That's correct. The 68/69 beam bolts straight in and comes with the wide-5 stud pattern also. Although it is a ball-joint system, it still had
the drum brakes though. This can be remedied by fitting later BJ discs. Unfortunately, the 68/69 beam will lift your front by about three inches. An
adjuster will be sufficient to bring your ride back to stock height, but if you want to lower it you will need dropped spindles (Custom Bugs &
Buses or Indian Automotive) which will give you an additional 3.5 inches (approx). Don't even try to make the dropped spindles yourself, its not
a part that you want to fail! :o
The 74 beam MAY be able to go in by welding and redrilling the mounting holes, but I've not seen it done before.
