hey guyz/girls,
Am installing an alarm into my 75 baywindow bus this week hopefully. Can anyone tell me where the door pin switch wires all meet to run into the
interior lights as a single wire so i can tap into this for the alarm.
thanks
Edward
pop the light out and see which way the brown wire goes. I cant remember off hand! It will run down the pillar and meet up with the other pin switch
wire somewhere.
send a u2u to crzbug67. alarm expert (and vw elec). should know more!
light and switch is playing up so i might pop it out and see if i can fix it and find out where the wire goes while im at it. thanks
the brown wire go to both door switches then up to the light
The red wire goes from fuse box to light
yea found it. but seems P.O beat me there lol. Got some different wiring running, and the brown wire that it mean to affect the lights is disconected.
Ive got the lights working off the sliding door but the wire coming from the front doesnt seem to do anything when i ground it... any ideas?
as far as i can see the wire is in tact, ive poped the light and and felt around but can only feel the one wire... (i guess all 3 door pin wires join
then run to the light?)
Ok ive tracked the wire, found where it goes into the pillar and where it comes out... but its not continuous...?
the wires from the 2 door pin switches meet up, and go up the pillar to the light. This is supposed to be a brown wire, as it supplies the earth (-)
to the light when the door is opened. There should also be a constant power wire running up to the light, this should be black.
If the wire has a break in it, I would run new wires, theres only 2 so not too hard to do...
the brown wires are suspost to be joined
how do i get the new wire down the pillar and across the roof with the head lining in?
if the old wire is still there, you simply connect the new wire to the end of the old wire that is sticking out when you remove the light, then find the opposite end of that wire and pull, as you pull the old wire out you will be pulling the new wire into place.
Does it go accross the roof or under the dash??
If it does, use the old one to pull it over unless its totally broken in two.
If that is the case, either with great difficulty, or run it under the dash instead...
I tried pulling the wire, but it seem stuck... so i dont think that i wud b able to pull a wire thru using the existing one...
I think im going to have to run a wire to the sliding door pin switch because that one is still affecting the interior lights...
