Can you bolt a 2 litre auto starter up to a 1600 flywheel. I'm currrently doing a suby engine conversion the standard starter was torqueing itself down and jamming so I was told to put an auto starter in. Now I'm having issues with that, it sounds as though the teeth aren't meshing properly. Did all starters have the same number/pitch on their teeth?

I use an Auto starter on my engine stand as well as a 12 volt 1600 motor.Should work on all 12 volt flywheels.

I'm useing a stock starter with my ej2ot and havent had problem at all, turns it over easy as , check the bush in the gearbox that the starter locates in as sometimes they get filled with crap and cause a bit of friction . How good is your battery and cables?
