Ok we are restoring our 67 beetle and was just wondering if other year panels,guards and lids fit or are interchangable. so is a engine lid from say a 65 the same as a 67 or is there a slight difference. I know from 67 onwards there were some significant changes.

depends how correct u wanna be
coz basically any rear guards will fit and any front guards excluding S and Lbugs
but all 6 volt front ones are the same except for the various blinker setups and same with the rear some have higher lights

with the decklid it depends what month 67 it is coz some just had a normal decklid same as 64-67 beetles but a few of the last 67s had the same decklid but the late model push button catch

If you car is a late 67 it should be the same all the way up to I think about 73 excluding S+L models.

But early 67 will be the same back to about 64.

diff is the badge holes ie 66 had 1300 badge 67 hd 13oo deluxe badge John

all had same nr plate light etc

from 64 -on had the flat, bigger non-pope's nose !!
