Had a fuel leak (67 bug) from the little hose between the fuel tank and metal fuel line. I replaced the hose to stop the leak. I noticed that the left tie rod touches the fuel hose/line at a point in its travel. Anyone had this issue?
The metal fuel line sticks out of a hole in the frame tunnel. Is it meant to have a grommet of some sort to keep it away from the tie rod?

Yes there should be a grommet in the tunnel to locate the steel fuel line. You could also lengthen or shorten the piece of hose you fit to get it away from the tie rod if its still an issue.

you can also bend the metal fuel line carefully to get it away from the tie rod
