Can I body swap 64body on 69pan ???
BrisDubba - January 29th, 2007 at 01:41 PM

Some advice necessary- I have a 64 Beetle with all the usual stuff and I am contemplating putting my 64 Body on a 68-69 pan which has bj front and swinger rear. It is a club car and I wanted to induce some neg camber and have a few more options.

Are they a straight swap- or will I run into dramas with the front uprights or mounting brackets at the rear.

Any advice appreciated.

HI,
I haven't done one of these swaps but I know many people have...
with a 56 beetle, the rear mounting brackets under the rear guards have to be shortened...
Not sure with the 64...

but thats all I know, One of the locals last year put a 1965 body on a 1976 chassis....

and the 76 body on the 65 chassis....

so I don't believe there are any major problems...

Best of Luck

yeah that's all - but might have to 'massage' the inner arches in the same area to give a few mm clearance to the chassis

Easy swap and probally the best option

This may help? I put a 63 body onto a 70 pan with no problems apart from the rear body mount. I only massaged the inner front arches because I narrowed the beam 80mm.
