Can i remove and replace the drivers side heater box while it is in the car??

Just cant get a good grip with a clamp and i seem to remember the end pipe was sort of smaller/corroded.

Want to replace the heater box and try again before i put flanges on.

Why, oh why didnt Mr VW use flanges in the first place

you might have to use something better then wd40 like penetrating oil
leave it soke come back spray again then try
