replacing upper & lower ball joints
rivkombi - March 25th, 2007 at 07:12 AM

my 73 T2 kombi is wandering around on the road more than a 51 yo bloke with a mid life crisis.
Checked out the upper and lower front ball joints and they look a little worst for wear.
Anyone got any tips and tricks on doing these successfully?
Thanks

On My 68 Beetle, it took a 50 ton press to press out the original ball joints...
a 20 tonne press would not budge them...
I had to take the arms off the torsion bars
and take them to a workshop to be removed and new ones fitted...

cheers

Yeah...get someone else to do it!
Seriously though unless you have a BIG press don't even bother.
