Could any one please tell me how to identify the year and model of my beetle.
cheers Liz.
What does your registration paper say? Tell us more about it.
Round headlights or oval shaped?
More info required Liz.
===============
I bought this car unregisted it has been sitting for the last 10years. It looks similar to my 64 but I need to know how can I tell the difference
between years or models and is there any vin plates or other plates on the body that can tell me.
liz
Hi again Liz. The chassis number for that era is generally located under the rear seat in the middle on the tunnel just in front of the oval shaped
cover plate. The numbers are sometimes worn and a bit unclear so just wet the area and it may highlight the chassis number. You can also have a look
behind the spare tyre as there is sometimes a "manufactuerrs plate" located there. Once you have the chassis number you can research on the web or
post the number here.
Does it have a Pope's nose or the wider number plate light? It is 6 volt or 12v?
