gearbox No's ???
BASHOdi - April 23rd, 2007 at 03:45 PM

Hi Guys,
I've just deagreased and cleaned of a 1500 gearbox prior to it being swopped in/out with the1200 box thats in at the moment and noticed the case parts have numbers cast into them.

The engine/clutch end piece has :
34
113. 301. 103
E

The next piece towards the front of the car :
113. 301. 193. B

And the final gear shift conection bit has :
113. 301. 211. H

Does anyone know what these No's actualy indicate ?? nothing altruistic about this enquiry I am taking someones word that I don't know that this is actualy a 1500 box and whilst I have no reason to disbelieve I have no real reason to believe iether so any verification would be good.
Any other way of telling ??
Any help woukld be most gratefully received,
Cheers ,

there part numbers and dont mean anything

just make sure you have the right starter and bush and flywheel fitted that match

On the gearbox case there is a number STAMPED on the underside,
just slightly where it starts to go up on an angle.
It looks like an engine number is stamped.

The number is normally prefixed with a couple of letters, and then a series of numbers.

The letters will tell you what the tranny originally came in, when you look at this site :

or this one :
