hey guys ,is there anything special inside the heater box or is it basically a bit of tube attached to the exhaustwith a 'y' shapped fitting which attaches to the shroud
No its special
I will try and find a cross section
The best way to think about it is a J tube with heat transfering large washers welded to it then encased in a shroud
It is actually a lot heavier construction than that inside
It is designed to have a VERY large surface area to transfer the heat to air while not effecting (affecting(sp???) - never can work it out) the
exhaust flow
isnt it a tube with a finned alloy section encased in a sheet metal housing
yes:beer
Aren't the type 3 ones internally-finned Aluminium (i know this is right), with the type 1 one's just a fairly simple pipe through the box? Or have I been mis-informed...
depends, too, on whether it is OE or repro/Mexico shite...
all htr boxes started wid a basic box and flap to trap hot air and heat cabin etc.
shockers on t1 to 62 then finned and sealed FRESH AIR heaters, not stale!
but as t3 only started from ca 64? they always had finns and fresch air mein Freund!
einige von euch sind eben einfach zu jung alles zu wissen!! ha ha
Finned or knot, they're alles able to zupply ze stahle luft.
