Serpantine belt/pulley system
kombikim - May 10th, 2007 at 11:31 PM

never much on here about these, I was impressed with how good they are on my "modern" 89 Pajero, no slip, or vibration, last a long time, & very easy to fit or adjust,
one of the greatest bugbears since I have owned my beetle is tin clatter, mostly when cold & idling, great when people come to see the car when I am leaving a show or even the underground carpark at work, I tried everything & couldnt get rid of it. When I found that Classic Vee-Dub was importing a heap of Scat parts into stock I figured that a system would be finally close to affordable & at least I could look before buying. Got a system on Tuesday & BY 1.28am Wed it was up & running, took to work Wednesday & 160km run tonite, was scared I would waste my money for something that just looked good, but wow, belt doesnt jump around anymore, no clatters under any situation engine is quieter & less vibration & noise throughout the car at any speed, I am wrapt
As far as fitting, if you were lucky enough to get the 2 front studs out ogf generator housing with generator housing in place, then it would be a real quick job, unfortunately my studs were too tight for that, so I had to remove evreything,
good oppurtunity to hose out oil cooler though, the pulleys & parts were a very good fit, as the normal alloy crank pulleys come very close to the engine tin, I was a bit worried about where the much wider Scat pulley was going to sit, but it actually sits a bit further out, giving plenty of room, anyway that is my rave. I reckon they are worth fitting.

Why waste the money when the origional belt system works perfectly well better off learing how to fit and adjust the origional correctly

ahh, wait a minute, here it is

The concept of World of Fine Theatre and Music (WOFTAM) Productions began in 1991, when an original musical, A Bedtime Story, was staged at the Town Hall Theatre, Campbelltown. Since then, we have staged original and established works, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Man of La Mancha, and Les Misérables (twice). We are based in Campbelltown, Sydney. We exist on an amateur basis, an amalgamation of talented individuals from all walks of life who share a love for musical theatre.
