Have found myself a 60's Beetle here in Tas after not too much looking.
The beast I have found seems very solid - no rust in pan, none near rear window, tiny bit on rear leading edge of body seam on LHS.
I have a question. The car is very light green faded to buggery but the pan on the inside is red in colour. Is it usual for the pan to be a
different colour to the body or does this suggest the body is on a new/different pan?
Thanks
yeah the pan was never painted the body colour, it was always black, so someone may have painted it.
you should be able to match the pan number to that on the compliance plate, not to sure about the early ones, but if it is there you will know if its
the original pan or not
Anyone got details of where I would find the numbers to match pan to body number on compliance?
have a look at your chassis number, on your pan under the back seat.
that number should be on your compliance plate
what year is the car?
