Cleaning an aluminium engine
shaihulud - June 4th, 2007 at 05:49 PM

What can I spray the EJ20 engine with that I am in the process of fitting to the Manx SR, and then pressure wash it off?

What I need is something that won't damage anything but will brighten things up a bit, before I attach the eletronics.

I'm not going to pull it apart and polish it, or walnut shell blast it, I just want it to look nice and clean and a bit shiny, with a minimum or oxidation on it.

I've been told that CT18 (or is that CT21,?) will do it.

Am I right to remember that the Myth Busters showed that Coca Cola will do that sort of job?

cheap degreaser. I cleaned mine the other night before starting to pull it out and it was pretty good. they come up pretty good with a simple clean anyway.
