I have removed the dizzy and mechanical fuel pump.
I have a plug for the dizzy hole and a block-off plate for the fuel pump hole.
Is there anything else I need to remove from the holes before I block them off? I thought I had read somewhere that I need to remove a gear or spacer
or something from the dizzy drive?
If I need to get something else out, do I need special tools?
what are you doing?? cleaning?
yeah you need a special tool to remore the dizzy drive sharf
What am I doing ......

Steve,
You should be able to remove the dizzy drive with a good set of flat nose external circlip pliers, turn the gear as you remove it, don't forget the 2
small washers on the end if the gear they usually stay in the case, use a magnet to get them out.
Dave
we've got the tool if you need it Steve
That'd be great, Daimo.
I'm off for the rest of the week (till Sunday).
Thanks Dave,
I hear that if the shims/washers fall back in they can drop right down into the case, resulting in a complete tear-down.
yes the shaft and shims other wise they will jam up in the cam gear
I bet you will be glad to see the back of that huge dizzy .

I'll be glad to see the end of the carbies.
The improvement the big dizzy and twin ignition made is remarkable.
Thanks for all the tips.
