Hi all, I am currently running empi extractors and empi dual quietpack exhaust on my oval with 1600 tp with twin 36 dells. My problem is, apart from
the mufflers constantly meeting the road, it seems it is wrongly named quiet pack as its the noisiest exhaust I've heard on a dub!! I have only done
less than 3,000 kms on it and I'm considering going phatboy or gt twin tip factory styled exhaust. With our baby due in less than 2 weeks I am
concerned about the excess noise in the cabin as well be cruisen with her in the back sometimes!! Any thoughts on what keeps noise down a little less
but still gives a little life to the old girl? Cheers!

I run a stainless steel 2 tip
Fits neat and comes out the stock holes.
Not as good as a fully merged but the next best
Exhaust note = mild growl
i'm running a phat boy but wouldn't reccomend them for their quietness........
had a genie super turbo muffler set up before, it was good, my young fella slept quite happily on his first run!....having said that, the straight cut
gears and 48's must not have bothered him either!..........you will be surprised how resiliant the yougins' are to noise
remember sitting in the back as a kid myself with earmuffs on too
I'm using a stainless steel merg system and fat boy from classic veedub, works well and will never rust !!
Bizarre, your setup looks good, might be a goer due to the low stance of our dub, stainless will quieten it down a little too, I like the merg system from classicvdub, looks great but I'm just worried about it getting the beats and looking rough after a few speed bumps and any driveways with more than 5 degrees angle! raising the rear is not an option, handles good down a notch or two...
1 5/8 merged header with phatboy - lowered... didnt have too many issues

I'm running SS extractors and a sinle tip-- not a quiet pack-- its reasonably quiet I got it from Vintage Vee Dub.
I heat wrapped a lot of the tubing so that helped.
I'm realy looking for one of the yank euro tip style of mufflers as I cant run the stainless twin tip as I wanted because of the oil filter-- it
just wont fit.
Does anyone know where I might find the euro tip style ??
I've found a good way to dumb down the cabin noise on any system is to heat wrap any pipe that can be .
Cheers ,
Al .
