BJ spindles

Hey is there a way to install nyloc nuts when you are fitting BJ spindles that does not risk the BJ rubber boots? I find that as I tighten the nut the BJ shaft turns freely and I can't think of a way of stopping it other that some vice grips or similar.

Any advice appreciated.

wipe the grease of the tapered faces on the ball joint and the trailing arm so they havea chance to grip as you tighten the nut also you can push on the opposite side of the joint to make it grip

The taper has to be seated pretty well to grip, you could try tightening a NORMAL nut on to the ball joint first to pull the tapers together then remove it & install the nyloc, if you get my drift, or use a large pair of multi grips or the like & squeeze the spindle & trailing arm together while you do up the nyloc.
Hope that makes sense.
