Driving home tonight I noticed a blue light has appeared in the middle of my dash. I was thinking that I might have bumped my high beams and I went to
turn them off. But I notice the light got brighter because they were already off.
If someone could give me an idea what this might mean or how I can fix it would be much appericated.
cheers,
mitch.
problem: you are driving a police car
hehehe
what car is it that you are driving? hard to narrow it down otherwise...
Im driving a '64 bug.
i assume its only on when the lights are on.
and the lights still switch between high and low beam ok, just the light stays on?
trying to think of where the juice comes from for that blue light...
looking at the wiring diagram, it comes straight from the fuses which also lead straight to the headlight globes high beam terminal, and power comes
from the dip switch, so it should only be on when your headlights are on high beam...
made any changes to your wiring lately?
check your fuse block is clean and not shorting between fuses at all.
it is more likely the light from the dash lights is getting into it somehow, and illuminating the high beam light. Something may have moved within the
spedo allowing light through...
The power for the light in the spedo comes from the fusebox, it is spliced with the wires for the high beam (white I think), therefore will only have
power when the high beams are on.
Thanks heaps fellas,
Its all making sence now. I replaced the speedo cable on the weekend which probably explains alot. I must of bumped or touch something that has
coursed this to happened. I'll have a look at the wiring, fuses and speedo again and make sure everything is in tack.
Thanks again,
mitch.
