'56 heater control flap removal
56veedub - July 23rd, 2007 at 09:14 PM
Ok so I want to remove the heater flap control boxes from the underside of my 56 bug. I have unbolted them from the various mounting points around the
engine but I can't seem to work out how the actual rod that connects to the flap connects up so I can remove them. Might have something to do with
the 1/2 inch layer of grease/crud I'm working with. A point in the right direction would be good as to where they connect up and how to remove.

A few cans of degreaser sounds like it will do the trick with some elbow grease (pun intended)

They are part of the exhaust tube as well, and the rod is held in with a split pin on one side and the flap have 2 bent sections into the lower
section of the box
