I have K & L on my Orange smoothieeee with discs on the front and Type 3 late rear drums on short axles on rear. 4 studs wheels all around on my
65 smoothieeee
I have a twin circuit master cylinder ... and all works really great
If you want discs on a K& L talk to VVDS as they have a kit which i think is around $950 with new rotors calipers adaptors bearing and seals and
pads.
As for the rear you will have to find a late modle Type 3 like the notch n steal the hubs and drums and backing plates etcetc
Fir a new master cylinder and new rear wheel cylinders... 4 new flex hoses and all is complete and you wont have to touch it for years.
hey mate go 4 a pan swap cheaper and better in the long run
yeah i second the pan swap. A lot cheaper and u get a better front end with balljoint, no more swing axles at the back. Later tranny is geared
higher for ur 1776...
also u can get at lots of things while the pan is off, like fitting a berg mount, replacing clutch/fuel lines etc. Also if u have any rust in the
pillars/heater channels of ur body u can get it fixed easily.
yeah the 76 pan is proberly the best way to go.. and i agree with all the above but he would have to buy a box as well and then
yr looking at about 5K for a rolling reconditioned chassis, with all the good gear, sway bars,torsion bars, etc etc
no you dont have to use a pipe bender for the brake lines, the soft enough to bend in yr hands but be carefull not to kink the lines
If your going anything bigger than 1500 engine then discs area must. You wont hvae to fiddle around later.
get new ones where there corroded or damaged.
