Windows hard to go down/up
njg02 - October 6th, 2007 at 02:12 PM

Afternoon. My type 3 windows are difficult to move. I havn't checked anything yet and am wondering what to check or what I need to do.
All suggestions very much appreciated.

My first move would be to remove the door cards and liberally spray the entire window winding works with WD40. You may have a lack of lubrication. Don't spray the window channels with WD. Use talcum powder there.

If that doesn't work, you may need to remove all the bits and free them up with oil, WD and lots of elbow grease as the parts may be rusted.

Thanks for that. I'll check soon.

At the moment I have been trying to fit a compufire module but in the dizzy the distance between the hold down screw and the post is different. The compufire is not as widely spaced.
