hi there
i am planning to build a nice 1916 for my 1960 bug
since it is going to be a bit of an og-ratty i would like to make it look as stock as possible from the outside(sleeper?!)
so i wanna try to use the og cutouts in the rear apron without restricting my engine through the exhaust system
has anyone got any ideas what to use or and where to get it
any help appreciated
thanks
steffen
There's a nice euro tip exhaust on CIP1 (and other sites) that's going around - it's a bolt on and has two nice rolled tips. Comes in black or ceramic coated. Or you can spend more bickies and get a custom job done.
steffen, also check out the CSP website...a bit pricey though.
the extractors I have wouldn't suit your application.
What sort of HP you aiming for??
This is better than a stock exhaust but certainly not in the fully merged header area.

I am running one on a base 1916.
Caffinepusherman is also running one on his KG with 1916 and dual webers.
Am guessing it would be "acceptable" on a ....say 70rear wheel HP motor.
If you are going 044's and big valves and lumpy cam - forget it
Hi
Bizzare, is your car up on ramps so that you can clean the exhaust with a tooth brush? Very clean indeed.
Another way to go is a decent 4 into 1 header, then some bends to put the muffler next to the heater box on the drivers side, then some more bends to
bring it out the stock exhaust holes, just like an old Brabham Lukey system.
