I am running wide 5 BRM,s but in the summer months I want to run flat 4 Fuch,s. Is it possible to drill my drums so that I can interchange them when I
feel like it?
Any help would be good.
Thanks
I know that it is possible but probably not legal due to the thickness of the drum.
If you were to use press-in studs it may be strong enough,
but not of you take them out when going back to wide five.
Perhaps two sets of hubs/rotors?
Vintage has discs for the front with both patterns, and I gather they sell a drum for the rear with both also.
yeah 2 set of drum or the Vintage front dics would be tha answer
And you would have to stud them as theres not enough meat in the wall thickness of the drums
cant ya buy 4 stud adapter plates ?
The other problem is going to be with the rear drums - going to a small 5x130 pcd may cause problems with the tapered surface of the drum face itself. I know I looked at the option when I went to porsche pcd on my old ragtop (before deciding to go with discs all round), and I remember the wide 5 drum wasn't very conducive to changing to a smaller pcd (even if you could get a blank drum). I may be wrong but that is what I can remember.
"" going to a small 5x130 pcd may cause problems with the tapered surface of the drum face itself. ""
Al yes thats another problem as well
Adapters will do the job, Flat4 Fuchs have a large offset (+45, BRMs are around +12) and you would need spacers anyway, so this will kill two birds so to speak.
I ran adaptors on my `65 Bug. That would be the best answer.
Not sure that they are legal but who cares!
Graham.
yep who cares dont walk on the grass and other such crap had a blue slip run in one guy said the rear guards are ok there an old set of glass guards
the other guy said no had to be standard so do ya own thing at least untill the Gov get there act together

Hey does anyone know if this type of wheel adaptor is legal, or are they any good.
They allow you to run a Holden bolt pattern.
Are there any problems with them that you might know.
They aren't legal in QLD.
nothing is legal in Qld
