If you stuffed the thread - it's have to be the head that's stuffed wouldn't it. Time for a helicoil?

nah i tapped it finger tight with masses of grease and found it was just the start and i couldnt get it the start screwing in but when i took the tapp softly in it didnt hardly bite and she was running smooth , i put some newys in, and she roarded again oh and then i sold her to BUHSER sorry if the spelling is wrong congrats

ive always run bosch plugs in all my VWs and been happy with them
just tried NGK plugs in my daily driver mainstream car but they only been in 4000kms so far no complaints

Bizarre - November 25th, 2007 at 10:52 AM

To each their own

just havent been happy with non German Bosch
A couple of years ago I had a few plugs that just stopped firing.
Never had that with NGK

Had a couple Bosch 009 points that were absolute rubbish. Spring - what spring!
Mainly went electronic ignition not because of "improvement" but more that the points you buy are rubbish.

Very happy with the Beru 4 tips as well

Bosch were having their plugs made in another country,
can't remember which one
but the plugs did get a bad name because of it...

I have always run BERU....
or BOSCH...
whatever the VW shops had at the time....

plugs to suit beetles are getting harder to find at Repco etc as they don't sell many...

I find it best to buy everything from a VW shop...
200+ kms away...

cheers

Lee

PS: I may try an NGK resister plug next time...
I've been using them in My Mitsubishis for years...
