Hi
As the subject says, how much power can a Kennedy 200 mm stage IV pressure plate handle with an organic disc?
This is with a roughly 950 - 1000 Kg car, G50 trans, 2 litre WRX STI motor, with about 190 kW at the wheels.
Kennedy state that the IV can handle 300 ft lb / 406 Newton Meters of torque with an organic disc. The factory STI torque figure is 253 ft lb / 343
Newton Meters, so I might be getting close to the clutches limit if I bump the boost up a bit.
I bought my adaptor when I was going to use a Type 1 box, that's why I have a 200 mm flywheel. I'm just wondering if I should bite the bullet and
get a proper G50 clutch?
Steve
Depends how its driven , but at a guess and from the no's you provided, I would say it will hold it easy .
Hey Steve,
Try this setup first as it will be cheaper than going the full G50 route.
You can upgrade the disc if required and that again should be cheaper than going the porsche route.
cheers

Hi
Well I went ahead and bought a G50 clutch kit and adaptor from Kennedy. They are really great people to deal with and the parts are 1st rate. I tried
getting information with the view to buying local but all I got was gobbliy goop as an answer.
The Stage 1 Kennedy pressure plate is aluminium and handles 550 ft lb of torque.
Steve

yes, kennedy are great to deal with.
Hi
