Type 1 stub axle and rotors onto type 3?

Howdy peeps, just a quick question

I read on shoptalkforums that type 1 stub axles fit onto type 3's. Is this correct? as I need a front stub axle for my 73 fasty and am having trouble locating one. Could I just use the stub axles, rotors and calipers from a late bug instead?

go and see sasha man, he should have a few type 3 front ends around.

I did man and was able to get the rotors off him but he only had a drum stub axle and not a disc so am going to check the wreckers tomorrow.
