I have a small but annoying problem in my 72 beetle.

Everytime i accelerate it feels like it actually loses power and I have to take my foot off the pedal slighty to stop it happening?

Any ideas to solve this?

maybe the accelerator pump is stuffed? (the diaphram in the carby)

if you have a vacuum advance distributor, lifting the foot off the throttle slightly gives more advance ignition & therefore cleaner accelaration, so check your timing as well

get a tune up

try for a 1 hotter range in the spark plugs as well it may help we use them here in Sunny Sydney and it help burn the fuel better theres too much crap fuel about and they charge top dollar for it

Also the points may be closed up a bit it could be a number of things
unless yr there with the appropiate new parts then its a bit of a guessing game
