What is it? some sort of hybrid? As Pauline say please explain.Mitchell.
Oregon Joe please stand up
Go to the STF and look at the Type 5 Oxyboxer section
What it is is the Wasserboxer motor (1.9 or 2.1 L motors) with aircooled P&C's machined in.
WHY?
well it has better crank set up and a few other things - sort of best of Type 4 and Type 1 in the one motor.
Oregon Joe is the Jake Raby of the Type "5" world

Hi
I believe Hellbug were the 1st people to do one, I remember doing a bit of bench racing with Geoff from Hellbug in about 1998 or 99 with few other VW
people and I think I suggested it and then Geoff did it soon after.
There was an article in Australian VW Power about it, there is even a link on the Club VeeDub sitehttp://www.clubvw.org.au/oxy.htm

I think it was before that Steve, but your right it was an Aussie idea ... and the Yanks coaught on afterwards.
Last time i spoke to Geoff, i ask him how many ahd been made and i think he said between 10 to 15.
I know one got burnt do death at Helensburg last year in the fires it was at Kurts shop.
Shimo, from Hellbug was the first , another aussie great idea with the sepos taking the credit.

Hi
I meant 88 or 89, I fitted my WBX to my car for the 1st VW Nationals in 1988 and it was not long after this that we were talking about it. The sepos
actually caught on when I posted the link in my post above this one on the Shoptalkforums.
