Having spent yesterday laying on the damp ground, trying to TIG above my head on the '54 I decided to stick the body on a rotisserie.
There's a few plans on various websites - all of which look like major exercises. I already had a 1000lb capacity engine stand that I bought last
year when I rebuilt the M5 engine. So .... off to Hare & Forbes today - out with $65 for another stand.
20 or so minutes hooking it up with my son and I - and one redneck rotisserie is in place. It doesn't do the full 360 degrees, but it gets me to
everywhere I need to be with a one handed push on the car. Its stable and effective. Starting from scratch the total cost would be $130. If I
wanted to do the full 360 degrees (why I don't know) - all it would take is a cut and weld-in of about a 6" height extension.
I'll post a photo or two another day.
Sounds good but surely a few fits of rhs and pipe would have been cheaper than $65 and it wouldn't need to be modified
Too much stuffing around - and wasting half a day to get it and weld it up. I hav'nt got much scrap steel here anymore.
