Just fitted a vp V6 to my bay panel & having trouble with hot starts.
Cold starts are fine, but once its run for 5 or more minutes, it winds about one revolution at the most.
Tried a new battery, another starter, extra earth straps from battery to motor & body.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm too old to push start it by myself and having to find slopes to clutch start it just doesn't happen at the local shopping centre.
get a torque wrench and work out the resistance required to turn her over when cold (should be less than 15nm) and compare that to the hot reading? you'll need the clutch in for the test, in fact it might pay to what the gearbox is doing when hot also.
sounds like the input shaft may be pushing against the back of the engine,
or the clutch, alignment of the adapter.
check the relays i know i didnt believe so i had 1 new starter at 150.00 and a 2year of worries turned out to be a $6.00 bit to fix
Problem Fixed.
I tried the relay as it was cheap & easy to do, but didn't solve the problem.
I had the motor out about a week ago when I had to change the box & didn't notice anything unusual at a quick glance. As it is the motor will
come out again anyway cause the box is no good.
Tried one of those expensive hi-tourque starters...........
Yehh Baby! Starts hot, cold, wet ,dry...
what happened to your other v6.... the mitsi
The v6TT mits has been shown the engine bay of KG. Very snug fit & super neat engine.
Some body mods required, but thats the least of my problems.
Also purchased some GT3 copies to squeeze under the guards. Lots of work to do here.
